Disabled Working Tax Credit

How much is it and how much income is someone likely to get a month on a part time job on minimum wage for 16 hours? bear in mind they have rent, food, bills and PA costs (about £700 a month not including entertainment and what not)

Also what is the criteria? because I was told you needed to be on DLA but I know people who get on ESA because they are still disabled but not enough for DLA/PIP which I think is right because some mental disabilities people can't handle full time work (Aspergers for example which might not get you DLA/PIP)

If you qualify and for how much depends on you and your partner's joint income. Your outgoings are irrelevant.

You do not have to receive DLA to qualify but will receive more if you qualify for higher rate DLA.

You can still get direct payments if the PA is for personal care, if it's for work related issues you might get some help from access to work.

I get this and work 20 hours on £6.50 per hour. I don't receive any other benefits however i was on ESA support group before starting work.
Take a look at this https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/419560/TC956.pdf
it has all the details to qualify on there.
P.s I don't get much but it helps to survive.

The second criteria is quite strict now. You do have to fall into one of those categories.
HMRC are now actively referring all claims for this premium to the claimants GP and other professionals for their opinion and confirmation.

At one time all you had to say is that you do have a difficulty and it was just accepted.

Do you have any Housing Benefit help? if not paying £400 a month out of those wages wouldn't leave you much to live on..

No other benefits, live on about £20 a week once bills and travel are paid for. I just cannot physically work anymore without making myself more ill. It's very hard at the moment but the government don't seem to help people in this position very much.

So you work only 20 hours per week and are not entitled to any housing benefit.. are you sure about that!?

Yes because my partner works full time but I don't want him to pay more because of my health condition so we half everything.
