For the love of Dog, not another thread on this!!! There's already a 70-odd page thread that has covered this inside out and back to front. Board guides, sort it out!!
custardy yet another pointless post that does not answer any of the questions
There's a link at the top entitled 'forum search' - try that out for size!

But you're forgetting that if people couldn't be bothered to find out their responsibilities with regards to ordering goods from outside the EU before placing the order, (and this information is very easy to find by using Google or other search engines) they are unlikely to bother using the forum search either.

For some people, it's far easier to simply stick their head in the sand and then complain when their lack of preparation ends up giving them a costly surprise.

It would be the sellers problem, not yours.

Don't be so silly, it will have been your decision to try and defraud HMRC. You can't have it both ways.

In my case I ordered from inside the EU an Item that was not liable for any extra duties and they not only charged me for it but in the proccess delayed it so long I had to go out and buy something else for my partners birthday.

When I pointed out to the developmentaly delayed muppet at the delivery office (who couldn't even read the Royal Mails own form) that there were duty paid stamps on the item and package, he said "contact HMRC it's not up to us". when I contacted HMRC they said "Maybe it came from a Free Trade Zone in Sweden"* and couldn't answer when I pointed out it had duty paid stamps on it. So you can use all the search engines in the world, they still might screw you.

*AFAIK the nearest FTZ to Sweden is on the other side of the Baltic sea.

...and if the purchase isn't via eBay?
  • Custardy need not reply to this - I would prefer no imput to his useless ramblings/trolling.

The part of the £8 handling fee fiasco that cheeses me off is that it can often delay the package up to 2 weeks!

Do your own clearance then and see how much longer it takes.
