snipes failing

I had a goofbid snipe fail yesterday - first time ever.
I tried a bidnip snipe today and that failed as well. Anyone else had a problem?

It may be a silly question but you haven't changed your ebay password recently and not updated it on the snipe sites?

Do you mean your snipe bids fail to win?

If so have you not thought other people may also have Snipe bids as doing a Snipe bid does not guarantee you will win the auction

I have checked and verified my ebay password using the facilities built into the sniping sites and that is not the problem.

I meant my snipes failed to be placed - ie failed to fire.

how long before the auction ending did you try to place them. If it was within 2 mins of auction end they will not activate

I usually set a snipe when i see something interesting so normally days in advance.
I've been using these 2 sites for years without problem until yesterday. I thought the goofbid fail was just a fluke but now bidnip has failed as well I wondered if there was more to it.
Anyone here had successful snipes using the above in last day?

i use Gixen and have never had any issues

Try manually bidding at the last few seconds like the rest of us.

The rest of us use Gixen and it has never failed

Goofbid has a history of being a bit temperamental - it would not surprise me to hear that it's playing up. My last Goofbid snipe was about a week ago and that worked OK, but nothing in the last few days, so can't comment.


The last time this happened I started using Gixen instead, but reverted back to Goofbid when they sorted their problems out. I prefer the Goofbid interface. However, I would use both to snipe on the same item if it's a 'must have' item

Last time I sniped using Goofbid they sent me a 'please confirm your bid' email when I placed the snipe. Did you check your email account after you placed your bid. I'd not seen it before and there was nothing on the site to show it was a requirement. I just saw it by chance a while later.
