Im about to purchase a new house and the property is a new build with no phone line installed. Problem is im 4 months into a bt broadband deal and 6 months into a sky 12 month subscription.
Im guessing I cant cancel either.
If I move, will the contracts reset to 12 months, iv wanted to move to virgin but that wasn't available previously at my current property, but is available at the new property.
what can I do to get out of this or am I stuck with paying for a new phone line and at best seeing out the remainder of my sky contract

Surely they can fit a BT line?
They should let you transfer the contract to the new property.
Generally if you want to break the contract you have to pay it off, in full.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Switch existing provider to new property, see out remainder of contract and then switch to Virgin if available at new build (is the new build estate cabled up?).0

We moved to a new build just under two months ago. We moved when we were half way through a phone and broadband contract with TalkTalk. We queried about cancelling but we would have to pay the contract in full to leave early so we just moved the services to our new house. Told them the day we were moving out of the old property and into the new one so they just switched it over.0

BT have a house move section on their website. Shame they made a complete horlicks of our move 2 months ago. Confused our house move with someone else. Had no phone for infinity connections for a fortnight despite dozens of calls at my expense. Gave up and ordered Virgin, fitted in 4 days.
However, assuming there is a line to the house installed during the build then they ought to move you.
