New combi boiler, 7 radiators and 1 towel for rail

Hi all,
Ok we moved into this house knowing it needed work. However Im unsure about the price I should be paying for the above. I will be providing the towel rail myself as I want a fancy one but other than that I'll be relying on the workman. I live in the East Midlands so what price should I be looking at? I've been quoted 6-6.5K.....
Many thanks

Not BG by any chance? sounds expensive to me, would have thought about £4k at most, however it depends how many floor/rads/flushing etc. Removal of old stuff?0

Yeah that seems a lot. Have you had a quote from any local firms?0
-
I've had a quote for £7500 for a combi and 8 radiators.over 73 but not over the hill.0

Depends what boiler you have, if you have a middle of the road boiler you can get the boiler, and 7 rads for less than 3 grand with some heating engineers.0

Get the best boiler, (in the long run) W/B or Valliant (so they say) Its the labour that costs.0

is this new pipework as well?
no issues with having to move utilities eg gas, electric water?
if no to both, sounds expensive0 -
Hi,
No we are moving to utilita out of our own choice. I don't think we will need new pipe work but not sure. We have twin valve radiators so can't just even upgrade. Our budget only stretches to about 2K though, however we only need 5 radiators and a bathroom towel rail, I counted the current bathroom radiator in! Shall I go on mybuilder etc?0 -
Does sound a wee bit pricey I think, yeah W/B boilers tend to be very expensive but Vaillant can be just as good but a bit cheaper. I'd be getting some more quotes in and seeing how they compare really.
Whenever I need a boiler fixing or swapping (after I moved home) I got some quotes in and picked the lowest which came in from stl heating. There may be other options too though - some places offer finance which is so helpful whilst there are schemes like ECO where the gov't can pay towards the cost of a new boiler if you qualify.0
