Regularly order stuff on the internet which gets delivered by various couriers but citylink seem to have a strange habit they leave a "We called today" note requesting you to go and collect the parcel at one of their depots.
Now nothing new in leaving a note but than I was at home all day saw the city link van pull up but the driver did not bother to ring the door bell or knock on the door just quickly left a note telling that I was not at home !!! and to collect the parcel from the depot.
Now on the note they advise you to dial a 0870 number. which by the time you have finished arranging to pick it up will cost you a couple of pounds.
looks like citylink are not only causing inconvience to their customers but also by means of the 0870 number making extra money out of their customers.

Maybe a daft question, but if you saw him pull up why didnt you go to the door??0

I have city link call quite a bit and they have never done this to me. In fact, if I am out then the guy calls back when he does his collections in the area in the afternoon. One the one occassion I decided to collect I just turned up at the depot and got it.
Maybe he knocked but you was waiting and did not hear him and he thought you was not in but I agree with the above, if you saw him pull up you must have seen him come down the path so why wait for him to knock and not just go to the door? How could you have missed him if you saw him pull up, Don;t forget these guys will have extra parcels to get done with the Postal Strike - mine already does 130 drops a day, I really could not expect him to wait at my door for 3 minutes just in case I might be in - he rings and then goes. They do have to get their deliveries done by lunchtime so they can start collecting in the afternoon.0 -
"City Link Customer Scam"
City Link customers see van pull up (allegedly), don't go to door, then complain they've been scammed.0 -
Im sure it would cost City Link alot more in fuel and wages to re-deliver then they would make on the phone call:rolleyes:0

It should tell you on the card that they will call again the next day (standard pactice, they try to deliver twice and then it is returned) so put a note on the door asking him to wait a little longer than yesterday! They are usually in the area so no extra fuel unless you live in the middle of nowhere with no other people around.0
