Not counting people with large amounts of muscle/ other circumstances making the BMI calculation unsuitable. Well You can if you want its still interesting to me.
I am really short so would be overweight at only 9 stone! (BMI 25+)
Obese (BMI 30+) at 11 stone
Morbid Obese (BMI 40+) at 14.5 stone
Underweight at 6.5 stone.
Currently I am in the healthy range
What about you?
Do you think being over or underweight makes you spend more money?

Anything over 14.5 stone and I take action to reduce. According to the NHS, I am overweight at 14st 11 and I'd need to be nearly 18 stone to be obese.
Wife takes action at 8.5 stone, prefers to be close to 8. Overweight at 11 st (although she would resemble a Michelin woman by then.)
Being overweight probably means we spend less money as we eat less in order to get back down to our preferred weight range.
Edit: All above based on BMI calculated with this NHS tool...

Underweight at 8st 9
Overweight at 11st 11
Obese at 14st 5
Currently in the healthy range. I don't weigh myself (only know my weight from visiting doctors last week) and I only tell if I've put on weight if my clothes start feeling a bit tight. That's when I know I need to cut the crap food out for awhile..
It all depends on the person really whether they spend more. My weight 2 years ago was classed as underweight but I ate more junk then I do now which I suppose means I spent more money. I eat at stupid times now (thanks job), don't sit down and eat my tea until 10:30 at night which isn't good.0 -

To be healthy it says I need to be between 7.13 and 10.11.
I'm currently around 10.4, so edging towards the upper limit and aware that I could lose a few pounds.
I've been 10.11 and heavier before and personally it didn't feel healthy at all. I couldn't imagine ever being 7.13 either though, that seems incredibly low to me but I suppose it does depend on your build and how much muscle you have.0 -
Female, 5'7 tall.
Healthy range: 8st 6 to 11st 6.
I like to be around 9st10 to 10st which makes me a dress size 10. That's my happy weight. I have big bones (I know it's a cliche but I do have broad shoulders and pelvis) and am hour-glass shaped, and below the upper end of 9st I look thin. Collarbones really stand out etc.
I like my food (and wine!) so I watch my calories and do exercise. Five years ago I lost 3 stone to get to my happy weight and then pretty much maintained it (few small ups and downs - I took action if I put on 5-6 lbs).
Last summer I had to give up my running and cycling due to some medical treatment and then got in a funk. By the new year I was up to 11 stone so now I'm back on calorie-counting and want to lose a bit over a stone.
Back on the exercise too and feeling a million times better mentally. When you have to give it up, it's so hard to get back into it but so worth it once you do!
Slightly depressed at how much fitness I've lost in just six months. Having to build up running again using walk/run intervals as I did when I first took it up.0 -

It is a cliche but it is relevant. Some healthy weight tables take into account wrist diameter to determine small, medium or large frames.0 -

Interesting, and probably why the NHS BMI calculator, which doesn't take account of this, gives such a wide range for "healthy". As I said, my happy and (I think) healthy-looking weight is about a third to half way up the range they say is healthy for me. Will look up one that asks for a bone measurement, out of curiosity!0 -

I think they are based on the tables used for years by American insurance companies to predict lifespan.
Here is one...

Mrs G has a small frame and would be almost spherical at the top end of her NHS health weight range.0 -
I'd spotted this one too. Saw some that measure wrist circumference and some that use elbow breadth. When I'm home with a tape measure I'm going to try both.
Will post results.

My healthy range is 8st 3 to 11st 2.
My current weight puts me into the obese category
While there's no denying that I'm overweight and I need to shed quite a lot, I do think that being classed as obese when I'm 5'6" and a size 16 is a bit harsh.0
