Hi all
Just trying to see what the average cost is for a Gas and an Electrical safety certificate is to compare and plan from a budget point of view.
Cannot seem to find any comparison online hence the question.
We are going to rent out our house so will need both certificates from a compliance point of view. Agents have said they can do them but want to see if we do them ourselves it would work out cheaper or not... any suggestions and prices welcome. We are in Hertfordshire if that helps in terms of regions...

Gas about £50 annual
Elec about £130 every 5 years0 -
Note that in general an Electrical Safety Certificate is not a requirement.
But, indeed, it may be a good idea to have the house checked before first letting it.0 -

Somehow I doubt that OP is going to let a HMO.
I assumed the agent would know what they were doing and advise them correctly of the requirements based on their circumstances.
:rotfl: maybe not.
In general though the LL still has the duty to ensure the electrical installation is safe. I wonder how one could demonstrate compliance with this requirement without some form of testing/inspection by competent person.0
