Worth staying with RBS

Hi
I need some advice please...
I opened a RBS current account mainly just to use to switch to an account offering cashback ie. Halifax £100 +£40 Quidco.

I have set the switch in motion but is it worth opening a savings account with RBS and staying with them as a "customer" just in case they have any offers?
Should I open another current account and use that to switch to another bank while I'm at it?

LOL, it would take a very brave bank to prevent their customers from switching as and when they would like to switch. To suggest that customers can't jump ship, now and at any time in the future, when they like is noting short of ludicrous.

It might be galling for the banks that they don't have a hold on their customers, but none of them can force their customers to stay, and all of them are free to offer their customers incentives to stay. I will stay with / go to Natwest/RBS as soon as they will top Santander / Lloyds / YB/CB / Coop / FD /M&S / Lloyds offerings, and I am sure
    thousands of others will, too.

C'mon then, RBS/NatWEST/Ulster, give us a good reason to open accounts with you.

    Why? Have I missed something?
I only opened the account a few days ago. It's just so I can switch and get £140 for the pleasure :D

I just wondered if I should open a savings account or another current account while I am a customer. Will they do a credit search if I open more accounts with them?

i don't think there is any point opening a Savings Account..

but, if you want another 'donor' account you could open a 2nd RBS account before you switch the first.

and are you with all of Santander / Lloyds / YB/CB / Coop / FD /M&S at the moment colsten? and if so, all to stay for existing deals, or just for opening incentives with some?

It was a reference to getting the £100 + £40 whilst it was available...
They clearly can't prevent a switch.

However, none of the big banks have offered a general switching offer - why would they want 'incentive tarts' who are not a passive audience and likely to demand the decent rates etc or move again.

They want people who bank with them and never move; perhaps take out their credit card and savings account etc
