Will exceeded credit card affect credit score?

Options
I have exceeded my credit card limit by £680 (within last week) but have just paid off £700 to bring it down to within the limit. Other than that I have never had any problems with it and pay by DD each month. Will this affect my credit rating?

Thanks

Did you get the balance back below your credit limit before your monthly statement was issued? If so then nothing negative would be reported to the CRA's - you just need to make amends with the card issuer.
  • Thanks, that's useful, I made a payment through my bank yesterday (bank is HSBC, credit card provider is Lloyds) but not showing on my cc bill yet. Next statement is due on 16th Jan so hoping payment will have cleared and shown up on my bill by then.
    Thanks for the feedback.
