Hi,
We considering a trip to France in 2016, yes I know, but I like to plan ahead!!
Does anyone have any recommendations for holiday cottages? We are thinking La Rochelle, or that kind of area. Needn't be coastal, but a pool would be nice, which can be shared. Must sleep at least 4.
Any guidance or experience very much appreciated.
Thanks
Nick

Agree, Ile de Re is lovely.
Some holiday homes here, just to give you ideas of pricing: http://www.abritel.fr/search/poitou-charentes/ile-de-re/region:3966/minSleeps/4
Ile d'Oleron is nice as well, and around La Rochelle mainland you will find better prices.0 -

Have a look at Gites de France for real French cottages.
Or in La Rochelle it is possible to rent student accommodation during the holidays. They are just across the water from the town centre and there is a water bus to take you to the town. Area is called Plage des Minimes.
Rainy day go to the aquarium, fine day or two go to Puy du Fou, both are not to be missed.0
