Yes definately the £1 shops. Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

In true MSE-style, why not use an old tin, wash it out thoroughly, then solder the top back on?Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0

However, I have a large whiskey bottle full of small coins (20 & 50p saved elsewhere). How do I go about getting the money in the bank, last time I tried, they would only accept £5 in shrapnel?:(
The Natwest branch nearest to where I live has a cash machine that you can pay cash into including coins, it is similar to a Coinstar machine but does not charge, if you've got an account with Natwest or no anyone that has that might help.If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.
If you do like it please hit the thanks button.0 -
My parent's ALWAYS buy me one for Christmas. 27 years old and my parents still encourage me to save in a piggy bank![/QUOTE]
My mum buys me one every christmas and i'm 47,I save pound coins in mine.I start the 1st of January and then open it 25th december, last year it had £978.00,the only down side is it takes ages to count and bag ready for the bank.0 -

Why is it that we are always years behind other countries. When I lived in Germany over 20 years ago every bank branch had a coin sorting machine. It even wrapped the coins in polo mint packs. You gave them a big bag over the counter, they tipped it in and got on with serving other customers. The machine beeped when done and they then called you forward and dealt with your deposit. Probably down to something called customer service.0
