Santander application - who to call for progress update?

Two weeks ago I applied for a Santander credit card. I had an email saying they would write to me within 3 days to let me know their decision.

Two weeks later I've not had any further emails or letters about the application. I've called the number for internet applications but the automated message advises that their phone staff will be not able to advise on online applications and to go to the "Check application process" part of their website for more info (which basically says wait 14 days but doesn't give any further info about who to call).

For those that have applied for a Santander card recently how long did it take for you to hear from them and also does anyone have any suggestions as to who I should call next?

    Applied last Tuesday, along with an account switch application. Got the confirmation letter Friday so the 3 days worked for me.

    Thanks for the info. I checked that my address details were correct at the time...just don't get why I've not heard anything and seemingly cannot find out by phone. I've been receiving other mail regularly too.

    I applied for a credit card online with Santander 12 days ago and I've not heard anything from them so far apart from the initial e-mail confirmation.

    I applied online, was accepted and confirmed by email within 60 minutes, that was yesterday, and today I can access my new cc account via online banking. Now that seems quick enough to me.

  • I applied just over 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting.
  • i applied online and have also not heard anything. i find it frustrating as there is absolutely no contact number or a way of being able to chase this. I do not bank with santander so i can understand that I wouldn't have an instant decision but i think the whole process could improved by far. There should at least be a section to chase the progress of my application. It says its instant by phone so how can it then take all this time for an online application? wish i had of just called in to apply now.
