EDF Failure to Produce Final Bill
Advice please as to whether I have any recourse.
I switched dual fuel from EDF to EON back in November with the MSE Big Switch, meter readings were taken 1 November, although I'm now told that the electricity didn't switch until 11 December.
Last night I had a [very aggressive] sales call from EDF saying they could offer me a better deal [it wasn't cheaper but did extend to May 2016 so an extra winter].
I mentioned that I hadn't received a refund for the many £100s I was in credit by. Was around £800, probably still over £600 at final bill stage.
The caller said that EON were at fault as they hadn't finalised the switch, so I emailed EON last night [no reply yet].
Then today, probably not by coincidence, I received the following suggesting that there is no reason for the delay. I haven't ahd a final gas bill either by the way. Is there anything I can do, and thanks for reading :
There's been a slight delay
We’re sorry its taking longer than expected to send your final electricity bill. We're just sorting out some remaining issues on our side. Don't worry, we have everything we need from you to do this, so there's no need to get in touch.
Unfortunately we can't give you an estimate of how long this will take just yet. But we do want to reassure you we'll be in touch as soon as we can. If you do have any questions you can call us on 0800 056 7777*. We're open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm.
Yours sincerely

Astonishingly a Final Bill has appeared overnight!
They say it is based on an estimate, which is odd, as I supplied precise readings.
The bill dates 13/01 whereas charges go to 17/12, lots of stalling here by the looks.

I switched from EDF to EON and they also appeared to be stalling with me. I had an email to say that it had been held up by EON and could take 6 weeks and then a week or so later receievd a final bill and within 3 days the outstanding balance was returned to me. I hate paying such a large amount by DD to energy companies but they wont let me pay lower so you're left with large balances when switching!! Mine defiantly didn't take as long as yours though.0

Good morning melpomene,
I'm glad things are getting sorted out for you
Just a note about the estimated meter reads, just check that the reads on the final bill match those starting the account with E.ON.
If you've got an online account with us, it shows all the reads and bit and bobs you'll need.
If there's a huge difference in the estimates and the actual reads that you took, or if the final and opening reads don't match, let us know and we'll start the process of having this corrected.
I'm sorry it's taken so long though
Here if you need me.
