Parking Eye notice - SUCCESS!!!

Hardly fair if retailer is one of many in a retail park (as this case) and has no say over the appointment of a PPC.
But the retailer can complain to the landlord, who may even be in breach of the terms of the lease.
Ah, Deep, not reading my post properly.
My comment was specifically about the suggestion from Grimble
"I wonder what would happen if you went back to next with the goods and asked for your money back as they do not want you as a customer as their agents ticketed your vehicle". I stand by that.
I am quite in favour of the action taken by Mick in his latest post.0 -
No GD, I read it correctly. I do not think it is unfair to put pressure on all retail outlets in a complex where free parking is unrealistically limited, and there is no opportunity to pay for extra time.
If retailers are aware that PPCs are affecting their profits they can use this as a stick with which to beat the landlord into excising the cancer..You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I understand this retail park is own by Royal London Asset Management. I also understand that they own Atlantic Park in Liverpool, and are thoroughly unreasonable when it comes to parking. The landlord at Atlantic Park has refused to make any accomodation at all regardless of the pressure placed on them by tenants or building owners. As a result UKPC are on site to ticket anyone who parks on the runway-sized access roads.
Make your representations of course, but I suspect you will be relying on the appeals process entirely.0 -
Well it is most definitely worth following up your appeal with a letter to the relevant retailers too.
I wrote to the CEO of Next and have received a response from their Complaint Resolution Management Team.
They have spoken to the store manager and she is going to contact ParkingEye and request that they drop the charge, although they cannot promise that ParkingEye will do so.
As a side note, no response from ParkingEye about the challenge I sent to them.0 -
I predict PE will demand £50 to "drop" it.Je suis Charlie.0

Well as I have submitted a challenge in writing to PE (details of which are earlier in this thread), they either have to accept this challenge and drop it completley, or issue me with a POPLA code so I can take my appeal further.... Am I correct?0 -
PE have form for trying it on with cancellations mandated by their employer.0

Received a call today from Next. They inform me they have spoken to ParkingEye who have agreed to cancel the charge. The gentleman at Next said I should contact him again immediately if ParkingEye do not cancel the charge as agreed.
Will be watching the post for written confirmation of such from ParkingEye.0 -
Good result Mick, but you do need that written confirmation from PE. To be fair to them, they are pretty good at getting 'Charge Cancelled' letters out.
Keep an eye out for Postie. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I already have our office staff keeping an eye on the post so fingers crossed for a nice letter next week!
It is definitely worth getting the retailers involved if you were a genuine customer!0
