Can anyone recommend a good place to start please?

There are a number of companies that offer hosting and reasonable packages to create your own website using professional looking templates that you can drag and drop controls unto. I tested GoDaddy a while ago and their 'Website Builder'. It seemed easy to use. Their website says it costs *from* £1 a month to use.
People have also suggested 1&1 though I've never used it myself.0 -
Wix are advertising on TV. Apparently it is quite easy to build a website there. (I had a client produce a mock-up of their requirements using the free Wix option).
Free Wix integrates adverts in your site, but I believe there's also a paid-for version which removes the ads.0
