When I opened the new accounts a couple of days ago, I got 1.4% and that is what is showing online.
It's also been plugged for a long time as paying 1.4% AER in the 'best savings account' article on the main site.

I opened an internet saver today and the message displayed said they would check identity against the Electoral Register unless they had previously already done so. Nothing about a credit check.

Sorry, I got mixed up with my checks mate ;)

Very odd! Maybe it went up briefly and then down again although that does seem unlikely.

Either that or I'm losing the plot.
  • Applied for my fourth internet saver account a couple of weeks ago via the link when logged in.

Account opened OK but was set up "in a separate folder" according to the CSA when I queried why it was not visible. Now visible alongside all my other accounts after she "sent an e-mail".

Have to say Tesco is the crappiest on line system (other than the Post Office LOL!!) of the many that I use. I seem to regularly have to re-register my PC , which is a complete ball ache as it never seems to work with IE and I have to go through the rigamarole once more in Chrome.
    Ethical moneysaver

Meh. Not so fussed about this. I pay in around £24/year in to Tesco. I cba doing this for a measly 33.6p/year extra (pre tax) compared to the 18p/year I get now

Think my time is worth more than 15p/year :D

Besides, that "lost" money is re-couped by quite a lot, at other banks so...

I also opened a Tesco internet saver, last weekend. As part of the new customer checks, they are asking for a certified copy of my signature.

At this point i gave up. Its crazy, I've opened up dozens of Current Account / Credit Cards this year, never come accross something so cumbersome just for a measly 1.4%
