Third party insurance worth it on cars that are not worth a lot?

Last time I looked into it my quotes came back as something in the region of: comprehensive £400, TPFT £250, TPO £500. So it varies a lot from person to person. It's certainly not the case that there's never a significant saving to be made.On the few occasions I've asked or checked online I haven't seen more than about £8 saving available by having 3PFT only.0 -
Always look at both as it can vary between insurers, my current fully comp is the cheapest I've ever had, but I did have 3rd party a few years ago as it was cheaper than anything else. Not much difference in the real world for what you get if you run old cars, although a car worth £1k would be a luxury for me.0

In addition to the extra premium and excess think about how much extra it would cost over 5 yrs declaring a claim.0
