Avco Trust PPI

Had two loans with Avco from the late 1980's/ early 1990's which had PPI applied to them. Redeemed the second loan early and received a small refund of the PPI in settlement. Have claimed and gone through FOS as got nowhere with Avco or Citibank. The underwriters were Cornhill Insurance who were taken. Over by Allianz. Has taken two years but Allianz have accepted responsibility and received a call today from FOS to say an offer letter with calculations is going to be placed in the post. All had to do was provide proof othe insurers who underwrote the PPI and luckily had kept all the loan paperwork. Proof will be in the pudding when and if the payment is made!

Hi there was wondering if you could help. I have been trying to pursue Citi financial previously Avco trust in relation to mis sold ppi and have been told as I don't have paperwork they cannot trace anything. The loans were the same sort of time as yours. 1990s. I have been told I can only pursue the underwriters of the ppi policy. I note you say cornhill were involved. Do you have contact details for them as I may be able to contact them direct.

did you get any success, if so can you point me in the right direction to start the ball rolling.

The first two posters from this thread posted in early 2015 and have never returned to the forum.
I doubt you'll get a response to your query.0 -

I have just successfully completed a claim with Avco Trust Via the Company Canada Square. At first they said they had no record of me but i found an old paying in slips with account numbers on. Today i got a cheque for £10755.32.0

ive just found some paperwork which was for the final discharge settlement that i paid in 2001 when we moved home but this has been billed by "the associates".

after a quick google they bought out avco in 97/98.
i really havent a clue where to start, any advice really welcome.0 -
I have seen ppi claims can still be pursued. Is there any way of getting details of an acount I had with Avco Trust years ago but have nothing left to show dates, numbers etc. Should I abandon the idea or can anybody help or advise?0

2015 thread revival by a post on an unrelated subject. Posters beware you don't respond to the 6 year old posts in error.I have seen ppi claims can still be pursued. They are hoping to use the courts. A not-so-simple process. They take a much bigger cut on success and some get you to take out a loan to buy an insurance policy to cover the costs of a failed court case. It only comes into play if the case is lost.
