Realplayer Cloud malware

Hi, just downloaded the realplayer cloud directly from the windows store accessed from the pre-installed store tile on my HP pavilion. I made sure I unchecked the browser add ons. Everything seemed to be ok, however when I went back onto my start page and clicked IE I got 'congratulations competition survey' message which a quick google has informed me is a malware virus, and it mentions realplayer as being a carrier! I thought downloading directly via the store would be safe! I'm running Norton which has detected nothing and just ran malwarebytes which comes up with nothing either. Has anyone else had this problem, or can any one advise me what I should do next.

Didn't know anyone still used Real Player, why are you using it when there are far better video players?

Hi, I was using Torch Browser as a video grabber but it stopped working and looking round the internet Real Player Cloud seemed like a good alternative as it grabs video and audio. I like watching youtube music concert videos, Torch saved them but not in a format that would record onto discs so I thought I'd try the realplayer cloud instead as I could just save them together in the cloud rather than recording them onto a dvd/cd.

The pop up message has appeared twice now when first clicking onto IE. Have cleared cookies, temp files etc. Having read a few more articles and reviews it doesn't appear to be a very popular app!

I'm actually having great trouble understanding how it actually works as unlike Torch the record button isn't visible. Have managed to test it on a video on youtube which worked ok (a little record button appears when hovering over the video) but it is supposed to be able to record audio as well but can't for the life of me figure out how to get the web page to play in the realplayer to actually record it! The Torch record button was always visible on the web page itself, here the record button is in the real player!

I'm rather old fashioned as I like physical media (dvd/cd) and usually buy everything from Amazon/Play but there are lots of things on youtube and other web sites that can't be purchased and so have to be grabbed, I've always planned on putting them onto dvd/cd but the cloud idea gave me a new way of thinking regards to saving them. It looks however as if I've chosen the wrong app to do the job! Any help appreciated. As you've probably guessed I'm not very computer savvy!
