Unfair fine

We parked in a car park and paid for the appropriate ticket but, when closing the car door on a very windy day, the flimsy ticket (which was not sticky) which was placed on the dashboard, unfortunately blew over - even though it was still on the dashboard with the relevant code on the back of it (as on the front). We came back to the car to find a parking ticket on the windscreen. We appealed to Redbridge Council and finally to the Independent Adjucator, and, even though we sent them the original ticket with the right code, and they admitted we had paid the correct fee, they threw out the appeal as they said that this action of the ticket being blown over by the car door being closed was highly unlikely ! They have set responses to every appeal even if very unfair. BEWARE !

Ticket flip-over is VERY common, especially with flimsy tickets.

However, as this is a Council PCN you'd be best heading over to Pepipoo as they deal more with such tickets - we focus here on private parking companies and their scam invoices. (But you'll win this no doubt at the next appeal stage, especially if they've admitted there was no loss). Read a few posts first so you get the hang of what info they must see before they can help you. (If you don't provide the info you may not get any help - like here they are very busy, so those that help them, get helped).

Are you sure the case has actually gone to PATAS as it's a bit surprising to have lost a 'fluttering ticket' case at adjudication. Ask on pepipoo but if you have managed to lose at PATAS you must now pay it unless you have grounds to say the adjudicator erred in law. Don't tell me you didn't turn up in person and relied upon a postal decision - which is the silliest/'most likely to lose' way to approach it - you should always go along to adjudication in person and you might have won. Amazed you lost a fluttering ticket case.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
