We have a gas boiler and we need a connection to put a gas oven in.
He said £200 for labour and £30 for parts is that fair? We live in South London.

Too many variables to say. Make sure he's qualified.0

Well it depends how far he has to install new pipe for the cooker and whether there are any walls to go through along the way. If its 1.5 hours work its too much. If its a mornings work its not that far out for London I reckon.
As booty says..check he is the real thing. He should carry a Gas Safe Card which is current and not out of date. Your safety depends on him being competent and in London as I walk around I see lots of boiler installs that must have been done by amateurs they are so bad, just looking at the flue pipes, gas pipes, pressure relief pipes and condensate drains. Stuff that if I did it would send me to prison, but apparently its OK for DIY amateurs to do..:mad:0
