Left over credit on prepayment meter

I recently moved in to place that has prepayment meters. I've spoken to British Gas and have been booked in to get them swapped to credit meters, but this doesn't happen for another 2 weeks. I've been using the prepayment meter since I've been here, but I've really noticed how expensive it is and I'm constantly topping them up.
I've only been putting £30-40 on at a time, because I am worried that any credit left on the meter might be lost when they change them over. Does anyone know what happens to the credit left on the meter when they get changed? Hopefully it gets transferred to my credit account! If that's the case, I'm inclined to go out and just stick £50 on both the meters today which should last the next 2 weeks and more.

When the meters are taken out the engineer will make a note of the creidt that was on the meters and pass this back.
The billing system will also compare your payments to the readings for when you moved in and when the meter came out.
These two should be the same and any credit can be transferred to your new accounts to come off your first bill0
