As it says on the tin.
I am getting married in 5 or so months and I want to become as lean as I can. I am currently 5' 8" and 12st - Not overweight by any stretch of the imagination, but I have a little spare tire forming around the middle.
Here are the issues;
I am looking at plyo-metrics.
Cheers!

Here are the issues;
- I have an office job combating snacking is the key!
- Other than football I find it hard to motivate to do anything else
- I am a gamer who just eats when I play.
I am looking at plyo-metrics.
Cheers!

Try taking healthier snacks to work with you, fruit, carrot sticks, oat cakes etc.
Other than the snacks, what is your diet like at the moment?
'Toning' is a pretty meaningless term really, you can build muscle and lose fat but unless you're a printer ink cartridge toning is not a real thing! How much time have you got to spare foe exercising? you might find the insanity workout beneficial.0 -

Since the turn of the new year, we have changed our diet pretty dramatically. No crisps, busicuits or chocolate in the house.
Dinner is mainly fresh chicken breast (well frozen, we buy 20 at a time) cooked in a variety of different ways. Or Quorn, which I have fallen in love with.
Weekday evening meals generally consist of;
-Chicken Breast (grilled using the George Foreman) frozen vegetables and packet rice.
- 1/2 Packet of Chicken Quorn. 50g Pasta, and a aldi sauce with frozen vegetables.
- Chicken dinner. Breast, with Frozen vegetables and mash made from new potatoes.
You get the jist.
At work I am snacking on Rivita Fruit crunch and fresh fruit. Carrot sticks are an excellent idea.
Lunch is either - Heinz Soup or Salad with a tin of tuna (in spring water)
I love Insanity, I did about a month of it last year. I currently have a small ligament tear in my left ankle so I am scared to death of going over doing 1-2 Heismann.0 -
1. Diet and exercise go hand in hand.
2. Set a goal for yourself and things becomes easy.
3. Take professional help for exercise and diet.0 -
Hi Andy_89,
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and choosing to get fit!
It's a good idea to try and be prepared for times you might feel like snacking. Make sure you have some healthy alternatives on hand - you could try chunks of melon, strawberries, lower fat plain yoghurt, a small handful of unsalted nuts, pitta and lower fat dips like salsa or reduced fat hummus, rice cakes with lower fat cream cheese and cucumber. For more healthy snack ideas and support, try our Fruit and Veg Boost! - https://fruitandvegboost.change4life.co.uk/social
In terms of exercise, the name of the game is to try to get your heart beating faster, and your lungs working a bit harder for at least 10 minutes at a time. 10 minutes of exercise is a great way to get started and a little less overwhelming. Every 10 minutes count and you can then start to build up to 20 or 30 minutes every day. Have a look at our Do One Thing tool which can help you plan to get going: http://https://smarttools.change4life.co.uk/

Congrats on your upcoming wedding.
I don't have much advice with regards to food, but exercise wise in order to tone without a gym the best exercises will involve your own body weight, sit ups, press ups, planks etc.
Be careful if you plan to do plyometric training as its quite intense and easy to injure yourself if its not done properly, start with basic exercises and work up.
Little things like tensing your stomach etc, will help to engage your core, help tone and help your posture.Wins so far :- Mousemat, Football, Chocolate Bar, Gravy and Fat Separator, Roasting Tin, Window Garden Box, a Basket of Hyacinths and a £1000 gift voucher for Very!!!
Massive thanks to all who post! :beer:0 -
I'll be reading this with interest! I'm hoping to do something similar in preparation for my wedding next year, and so far so good!
So far I've found re : snacking, is to have prepared healthy snacks and have them readily available. If I put a bowl of cashew nuts or chopped carrots next to the computer then when I'm sat on the computer I eat them without thinking, but at least they are healthier than eating a packet of crisps!Blogger, crafter & general moneysaver!

To be fair the boss and I have pretty much stopped the fatty food. We no longer buy chocolate, only what is left from Christmas.
Alot more vegetables, quorn and fresh meat.
I have been using the app - MyfitnessPal - to measure everything. Its does say that I haven't been eating enough, which I am not sure is totally correct.
The next step is to up my cardio, I have been doing weights but thats not exactly a fat burner!0 -
You don't want to cut down your food too much it's about the choices you make I.e fizzy juice and alcohol add up the calories. It's about the choices you make, I use my fitness app and I'm eating loads some days as im making better choices than others. Include some protein like a handful of mixed unsalted nuts when you are snacking to try keep you fuller for longer.0

So it appears that I have lost 0.5st since the 1st Jan.
I would say that is far too fast for myself.
I think I need to eat more!0 -

Weights does burn fat, you burn more after weights than during your cardio session.**Debt Free as of 15:55 on Friday 23rd March 2012**And I am staying that way
