They've deducted £2.69 - which seems to work out at 6 years lifespan (which is a generous lifespan for a £21.50 headset imo - bottom price range for headsets). 21.5/2.69 = 8. 275 x 8/365 = 6 years life expectancy. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

Very helpful, thank you, that is a very solid explanation.
Now if they had just quoted something along those lines in the first place, i would have been a happy man, as it is, it has left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth for that company.0 -
If it was a more expensive item, I would have suggested going direct to the manufacturer to see if you could get a replacement as it's still in warranty. But you would probably have to pay to ship the faulty item to them so would end up being worse off than if you just take the refund from ebuyer.0

It was an option I briefly considered, but decided against for exactly the reasons you have mentioned.
My upset is not with their legal rights, it is with their lack of clarity to a customer, but it is probably not a bad thing that it happened now as I have more equipment to buy next month and I will now give the business to someone else, obviously checking their terms and conditions very carefully0 -
I think it is clear how they arrived at their figures. Maybe the could have explained it so you understood but for the sum involved they probably thought it not worthwhile.0
