Hello, any advice welcome. we have a wall mounted gel filled, electric radiator.
Yesterday what looked like oil spurted out of the top right hand corner for about two minutes. I unplugged it. It's three years old.
Any clues welcome! was this a safety valve? Can I re fill it? if so with what? will it still work without refilling it?
Thanks

If it leaks, it's had it.
No warranty? Normally these types of heaters come with all sorts of promises.0 -
Sadly, I cannot find the receipt or the supplier as it was done when we moved in.
Yup I know, my error.0 -
I would be concerned about it leaking again (maybe you wont be around), and the possible toxicity of the gel.
A new heater will probably not cost you more than £50 so is it worth the risk?0 -
Don't use it if it's leaking or hasn't got it's full complement of fluid - you could end up with the element overheating, catching fire and being fuelled by leaking fluid. A potential disaster.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
