Will try not to make this too long so long story short.

When I took my current rental I guess I was lucky I knew my credit rating was shot to pieces (former dfw) so my landlord did not credit check me I just had a meeting with him took bank state, nets everything and he trusted everything was turning around.

Hubby moved in was fine just signed new tennancy agreement

We have since decided to move area the long story short my credit check will fail me with the new lettings agency, I simply no longer have a credit rating as I have nothing on credit (noodle 1/5 rating) I have no Ccjs just a few straggly bits from my pre lightbulb moment

Hubby has excellent rating, we have applied for joint tenancy, what happens when 1 of the party's has a low score and 1 passes?

The new house is a few hours away very nice and ticks every box, we have new jobs to go to, downside we will not have a guarantor, my family do not own etc. I feel awful that we will lose this because I was let's face it very very stupid, hubby is fully aware of the credit past but I have a feeling I am going to hold us back for the next few years.

    Any thoughts/ideas

Is it possible to have hubby as the tenant and you as a permitted occupier (you do not have much/if any protection in case of a separation), but your credit score shouldn't come into question.
At least, I don't think it would.
    PS. What is a dfw?
    I am a LandLord,(under review) so there!:p

  • My 6 months tennancy agreement is up I have been living on my own. My partner want to move in with me and landlady want to both of us to go through tennancy checks again. My partner has really bad credit score due to unpaid debts credit cards phone bills. He started paying them back very recently but we think he will fail it. I am able to pay the rent and bills myself as I done that for last 6 months, but I am worry that if my partner fails we will have to move out. Can I be a guarantor for him? Can I have some advise please? Thank you in advance

Should have started your own thread rather than drag an old 1 up.

Why does he have unpaid debts ?

Have you googled what a tenancy check involves ?

If your partner doesnt currently live with you how can he move it if he hasn't passed the check ?

Yes I guess you could be a guarantor for him if needed.

No 1 can see credit scores.

I wasn't sure how to start new thread .

I spoken to landlady and she said she is happy for him to move in but she pass his details to estate agency to go through the credit check.
He has unpaid debts because he was off sick for 6 months and he default his phone bill and credit card, but now he started paying.
