Sound insulating an internal party wall

hi all,
bought a 1930's property in the summer, semi detached, with one/two brick thick separating walls.
Recently we've become more aware of how much sound travels through them. We hear the odd bit of laughter and raised voices, but more recently we heard the couple next door have a blazing row and now - since she gave birth - the crying of their infant. Pretty clear they can hear me when shouting at the football (or being shouted at or shouting at the football).
I'm thinking about sound solutions, but really don't want to lose much space. It's not the biggest front room, and losing 5" of depth doesn't appeal.
So, been looking at plasterboard solutions - thinking about using adhesive and a layer of 12.5m BG Soundbloc. It's keep the space loss to a minimum and if I stacked out the adhesive enough I'd get a bit of am air gap too.
Looking for general opinions really, on insulating a brick wall without losing much space

Soundbloc on its own won't be enough to get rid of the noise. It may be worth checking below the floor boards along the adjoining wall to see what state the wall is in and if there are any gaps around the joists etc. Google resilient bars and see if they will work in your situation. Also if you do decide to build out your wall remember to carry out the work below the floorboards too. You could reduce the makeup of the wall down to 80mm using 3x2 cms and 12mm soundbloc/echeck boards. Any less and you wouldn't get enough insulation in.Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0
