I applied for a job in Indeed last week and received an email today saying I had been successful. The email contained a link to a website with login details.
It smells like a scam to me.Job Vacancies
Congratulations if your reading this you must have been selected for one of our "Assemblers" positions advertised, we need to build over a thousand handmade helmets for a new iPhone Doc project.
We pay £200 every three Helmets "stage one" successfully Completed, so please watch the video provided to see how "stage one" is constructed and to see if you're cut out for the work, you can enlarge the screen by clicking on the bottom right.
If you feel up for the challenge it's simple, click and select the start kit, it will provide you with all the tools you need to complete the job and three Helmet kits, use the video below to help you construct the Helmets.
You can get paid either by Bank Transfer, PayPal or Postal order within two weeks of successful completion.
You must be over 18.
We need to charge the one off fee for the start kit due to people receiving free kits then selling them on EBay !!!, it's always the few spoiling it for the many, so we will not send free kits under any circumstances, the last 15 free kits we posted out we lost 10 costing us £750.
Once you have successfully completed the starter pack containing the three builds, email us at ************* and we will send you the address to post the items for the second phase plastic coat.
When we have received them successfully built and all in good order, you will be paid your first £200, also you've proven to us you can be trusted and capable, we will then send you the build materials free of charge from then on.
You will be your own boss and work as hard or as little as you wish but do remember you will only get paid on the successful completion, good luck!
Questions and Answers
Q1. I can't find the company on internet search engines ?
A. We are not open to the general public, all our customers are by invitation only so we don't register with search engines as we don't need to be seen by the general public.
Q2. Why don't you complete the work yourselves ?
A. We are a family business and we simply don't have the manpower or work space for such a project.
Q3. How do I know this isn't a scam ?
A. We take payment by PayPal and add the tracking details for the starter kit, if you do not receive it PayPal will give you a full refund, if you wish to pay by bank transfer our business bank account details for Hero Kits will be shown on checkout, this payment wouldn't go through unless we owned the business bank account "Hero Kits".
Q4. When will I get paid ?
A. After you have successfully finished the Three helmets provided in the starter kit you will be paid within 14 Days.
Q5. If I can make 5 per day is that ok or is there a limit ?
A. You can make as many as you wish until the project has finished.
Q6. What happens after the project finishes, will there be anymore work ?
A. Yes projects will be available and we always look at our existing assemblers list first.
Q7. Do you take payments over the phone.
No sorry.

Surely this can be done in India or China for a fraction of the cost.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Sounds like a scam to me to. Unless I missed something, 3 kits cost them £225, but they only pay £200 if you finish three of them ? How does that add up?
I agree it sounds like a scam but I think they're saying a kit costs them £25 per helmet. They're claiming they sell the finished helmets for thousands.
You'd think Indeed would have some kind of vetting process.0 -
A quick google reveals there are no shortage of similar scams. Your finished work will never pass their "standards", and you'll be out of pocket for the kit and probably postage.
Also, there's no way any business would ever outsource the finishing / assembly of products worth thousands to random people on the internet. It will always be cheaper to hire staff (in the proper way) or get the work done abroad where it's cheap.0 -

I totally agree. The way their website is set up you're "buying" a kit so as far as paypal is concerned, if they send you a box of cheap materials they've done no wrong.
They've posted an instructional video on youtube which is embedded in the text I copied, in less than a week it's had nearly 300 views, I wonder how many of those potential assemblers will send them the money?0 -
Perhaps you can report it to Indeed - one thinks no one would fall for it but some do !ally.0

Unfortunately, this sort of thing has been going on for decades and new schemes pop up like weeds. The Internet actually helps them to reach more potential suckers.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

I've emailed Indeed anyway and hopefully anyone googling the company's name will find this thread.
I have heard of these scams before but its the first time I've personally stumbled into one. I'm feeling pretty !!!!ed off I sent them my CV and contact details but the initial ad sounded vaguely believable.0 -
My brother has already fallen for this possible scam.
The website is registered to a Mr Jason Scott
5 Claverley
Lower Beobridge
Wolverhampton
Staffordshire
WV5 7AH
The website contact details are..
Senior Unit 5,
Lower Beobridge,
WV5 7AH
Which seems to be a farm house in the middle of nowhere.
His Paypal account name is Jason Senior who was the owner of senior helicopters registered at the same address as herokits which also turned out to be a scam.0 -
