When do flights go on sale?

Can anyone advise please, have googled the question but can't seem to find an answer.

I am looking for flights in July/August 2016 to Florida.

Schedule flights go on sale around 330-365 days before. You might get a charter flight before through a travel agent, but they will be subject to change.

  • Florida is a very popular destination - you will find that in high season not many airlines need to discount there.

To answer your question BA and Virgin have sales on now.

I think OP meant when are they available to buy, not when are they 'in the sale'.

Yes I meant when do they go on sale to purchase, rather than on sale at discounted price.

So I am best off looking for flights June 2015 onwards for flights for July/Aug 2016?

Probably even later. For example BA are selling seats up to 1st Jan 2016 at the moment, Virgin are only going up to 16th December 2015. All the other airlines will be about the same.

If you want to buy a package it will be sooner, you can book a Virgin holiday for summer 2016 now, but the flights times may change nearer the time.

Thats great thanks all. Need to STOP looking at villas now until i actually book flights. Ive found myself looking at the $10,000 a week villas - just a tad out of my price range!
