That, surely, is the primary reason why it's knickers over the top of the suspender belt/straps

Another vote here for knickers over the top...though I hardly wear them now as my own flexibility with dodgy back and hip makes doing up the back ones difficult. Hold ups can be great if you get the nice ones - some have lovely wide and pretty lacey top and don't dig in leaving the horrible bulge of flab over the top0

I would normally lengthen the straps as much as I can, clip them on and then adjust them to the right length. It gives you a bit more flexibility while fastening them. When going to the loo, don't unclip them, just unfasten the suspender belt and pull everything down together.
I would always wear the suspender belt over knickers.

I gave up wearing the belts in my teens. Tights are never long enough so hold ups work best for me. But agree re the deep lace top ones.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

Theres no way I could go through the palava in a public toilet of attaching the straps each time I want to go to the loo. Tried that today and it didn't work so next time, the pants will have to go over.:D Its ok looking good but they have to be practical too.
