In many cases the Benefits Office deem renting off family a a 'contrived tenancy', and will not pay associated benefits.
Check on the Benfits board?
Mortgage companies also often forbid letting to family so your parents should check that too when they are applying for Consent To Let.0 -
Does include housing benefit from the council?0

Unless the house has been let to other people previously and will be let to you on the same basis, with a deposit taken and protected etc and your mum is prepared to evict you as she would any other tenant who didn't pay rent then you are most unlikely to get any housing benefit in this sitaution.
I believe the mortgage company will be reluctant to grant CTL if the property is to be let to a family member as well (due to the difficulties of trying to evict them/chance that the family member wouldn't evict them).
Is there a particular reason why you want to rent your mums house? Where would your mum live? Would she want to be a landlord with all the associated responsibilities ie tax return, taking and protecting deposit, gas safety certificate etc etc?
