I was planning on joining once I have a bit of spare time, but like everyone else I don't want my email address plastered all over Google, so I think I'll be giving this one a miss too.
Good idea. I was planning on waiting a few days to see if anything changes and if not then I was going to contact them again. Would be a good idea to mention the Data Protection Act.
I'm hoping they act on it. They did reply quickly at least.0 -

Any update?
I have sent another support message about the issue.0 -
I had a message saying they were going to update and the site briefly said database error a few minutes ago and says it again now so hopefully that means they are resolving the issue.
If anyone else has the issue that their email is now public on google search engines you can ask google to remove it. Obviously even when the site updates google results won't instantly update with it.0 -
I know how they got your email address. If you click on your username on the right of the screen and then click on 'posts' on the left hand side it gives you all your posts (obviously) and tells you by each, how many comments have been posted. Click on the number bubble and you see all the comments and underneath each person's photo is their profile link and under that, their email address. Oh and under that is what I assume to be their ip address too!0

It doesn't for me. Just double checked and can't see any of that information.
On the main posts there is nothing. Under comments under the dashboard there is a link but it just goes to the authors profile which lists all their posts. Can't see any personal details and it's always been the same for me. Unless I'm missing something!
What browser are you using? Maybe that makes a difference.
Edit: I looked on Firefox and Chrome but can't see anything. It's obviously there somewhere though to be showing on Google.0 -
I know it has been a little while since anyone posted on this thread but thought I'd update it as CGPGallery seems to have gone. When you go on the site it says account suspended.
If you have used this site google your email address! You can use the google web removal tool and ask them to remove any links to CGPGallery that contain your email and as the site has gone Google should remove it.
I don't believe there's anything anyone can do about their earnings sadly.
They answered the support ticket fast to start with and their last reply said they were passing the issue to their IT department. After nothing changed I contacted them again and there was no reply after more than 15 days.
No idea why the site has gone but could well be partly to do with site security.
Either way, if it comes back be aware there have been issues and may still be issues.0
