Sounds rather worrying if you don't usually publish that sort of information online. Perhaps do a Google search for your email address and see if any results come back?

I never ever post my email address online. My email does come up in google for that site and that site only. It shows my comments and username. Not impressed!

I think I shall be deleting it all and hoping that it is removed from google. At least it will show an error if the link is clicked if nothing else.

Same for me! and I am doing the same.

On a lighter note, it encouraged me to google an email address I had when I was 13/14 out of curiosity and I just stumbled across the most embarassing "blog" I've possibly ever made in my life..... :rotfl::rotfl: what was I thinking.

I can't seem to delete comments. I found all mine and clicked move to trash but they appear to all still be there. I can't remove them from the posts themselves.

Just checked my spam folder of my email and I have an email too so i wonder whats going on!!

I'd say lack of security. While there is nothing wrong with Wordpress when used right, a site like that needs to be secure and run by someone who knows what they are doing. The fact they've used Wordpress suggests they certainly can not code such a platform themselves. I sense they also haven't a clue about keeping the site secure either.

Very worrying.

Also I appear to be able to click edit on comments on my posts and yet I can not edit or remove my own comments. I'd delete my account but I need to be sure all details are removed.

I have sent a support ticket about the issue and marked the priority as high.

If anyone else has the same issue I suggest you do the same.

Hopefully they shall resolve the issue, but in such cases it usually helps if multiple people complain.

I received a reply to the support ticket asking me to forward the email which I have done. No mention of anything regarding how safe our details are and what they will do to fix the problem. The email address to forward to was also just a gmail one.

To be safe I'm going to have to change my email address now which is going to be a massive pain

Hmm, I'd send another response to that report ticket stating that you believe it's a Data Protection Act issue and if they don't respond appropriately then you'll report them to the ICO.

I was planning on joining once I have a bit of spare time, but like everyone else I don't want my email address plastered all over Google, so I think I'll be giving this one a miss too.
