different gas & electricity prices

looking at switching gas & electricity and noticed unit prices and standing charge are different on my last bill compared to my online account e.g. on last bill gas was charged at 4.01p per kWh but online account says my current tariff is 4.211 per kWh - confused...

    Is the 4,01Vat exc and the 4,211 Vat inc ?
    Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
  • it appears so - the unit rates and standing charges are all 5% more on the online account. bill is definitely ex-VAT but online account doesn't say - why can't they be consistent? thanks for your advice
  • I think that paper bills always were supplied ex vat - not sure they cannot change them, when on line accounts are now the norm for most people.
