Paypal Postage - Proof of Postage?

If using the paypal postage label option for an item sold on eBay, does paypal postage qualify for proof of postage?
I recently sold an item on eBay and just used a stamp and mailed it through a royal mail post box, needless to say it was reported lost in the post and I couldn't make a claim to royal mail because there was no receipt.
Therefore, I don't want to be caught out this way again.

No, even if you use eBay or PayPal postage you need to take the item to the Post Office to get a receipt. You need proof of posting, not proof postage was paid for.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
