Bank $ Exchange Rate

I would like to know what exchange rate my bank is currently using to convert $ to £. I bank with Lloyds. Any ideas? I can't find it anywhere!

Thanks in advance

In their Ts & Cs they suggest you have to call them to find this out, depending on exactly what sort of conversion you're referring to:

    For inbound payments it says:
We will use our standard exchange rate for
buying the relevant currency that applies on
the day we receive the payment. You can find
out our standard exchange rate by calling us on
the number given in the contacts section at the
    beginning of this document

but for cheques it refers to different rates:
The exchange rate we use when converting a
foreign cheque into sterling will be:
    i. our standard exchange rate for negotiating
cheques, on the day we buy the cheque
    from you; or
ii. our standard exchange rate for collecting
cheques, on the day we receive the
    payment from the paying bank
  • Thankyou very much

Neither of these normally offer the best rates. Use a comparison service like https://www.fxcompared.com/ to get the best rates whenever you are looking to make a transfer.

Thomas Cook often has a very good rate, pre-booked online.

However, take care. My last transaction was put through twice. I was hopping mad and their systems need attention.

I will use them again, if they offer the best rate, but I'll take cash to pay.

There are other FX companies that are not on there. I just ran a couple of figures through and although I do occasionally use the one that came out on top, I can often get better still from another company.
