Appealing a decision by Capital One

Capital One have declined my partners application but says he can appeal.

Is it worth doing this? He applied for their standard platinum card but shall he write and say he would accept their classic card.

He can also send a bank statement as proof of the amount of money he has going into his account and that he has a direct debit coming out each month.

Is it worth appealing to Capital One or a last resort is a Vanquis card!

Thanks for any advice

Dagobert how long did the appeal process take? Did your appeal relate to the 4% cashback card?

I wrote at the beginning of July; they just requested documents for proof of id. About one month.
