Matcha green tea......

Total waste? I only became aware of it's presence due to a smoothie recipie requiring some as one of the ingredients. It's not exactly cheap but is it a great secret or well known con?

I buy my matcha/setcha powdered tea directly from Japan, it works out cheaper if you are after good quality tea.
It was recommended by tea connoisseurs on Tea Chat.
