My daughter told me about these two tips which I think are fab:
Buy a pair of the exfoliating gloves from a chemist. I get two pair for £1 at my local chemist and use your usual favourite facial wash. Lather your wash onto the gloves and gently massage for about a minute into all of your face. Rinse off and apply a moisturiser. Your face will be a bit red for a few minutes but your skin feels lovely, like you have had a really expensive facial.
When you shave your legs use a small amount of hair conditioner on your legs instead of soap or shaving foam, works a treat and saves money. Result is nice smooth legs with no drying effects.

Thanks for the tips.

Sorry but I wouldn't put those exfoliating gloves anywhere near my face. I do use them on my body with just body wash. But far to rough for sensitive facial skin especially if you have mild roseaca.
I shave my legs in the bath and just use normal soap0 -

agreed! way too harsh for your face. there's loads of 'microdermabrasion' type face cloths available at low cost these days, no need to damage your skin for the sake of saving a few pennies0 -
Depends on the skin we have to use soap or not.If face have sensitivity means,do smoothly.0

OP I am worried about your face. It must be red raw by now!
Added to which I am also worried you're thinking that link you tried to provide for Spam actually worked. (The large white gap at the base of your reply was the give away)

I've used conditioner to shave my legs with before and found that it does an excellent job of blunting a razor. I just stick to soap and water now.0

Thos exfoliating gloves are bad for your body let alone your face! They'll cause skin to dry out too much and become tender and flaky - not a good look!
Also, olive oil is cheaper than conditioner and is good for the skin as well as making shaving easier.0 -
OMG Didn't realise so many people would be so horrified, made me laugh. My skin looks great, I think you would have to be a bit silly to rub your skin off and make it sore. Any exfoliating would make your skin red for a minute or so, it is similar effect you get from a buff puff, but hey ho if you don't like it you don't like it.
I'm sticking with as it does wonders for my complexion. Don't worry, I don't think my face will fall off0 -

It may look great now but it will have a lasting affect as you're breaking up and removing too much of the oil that protects your skin. If I used an exfoliator or had an exfoliating treatment that made my face red I wouldn't be happy! I've got a Garnier exfoliator wash that I use once a week and its so gentle it never leaves me red, the rest of the time I use a natural oils soap.0 -
I had a pair of these in my bathroom cupboard for ages.
I normally use exfoliating body wash but ran out. So I used these mits two days ago. Never again I binned them. I only gently rubbed my body with another body wash and used these mits to exfoliate. I use the body wash all the time and have not problems with it. Anyway when I got out of the bath I started itching and came out red and bumpy. I know it wasnt the body wash.:eek:0
