adult only holiday

Hi

Some friends are looking for a week's holiday, free of children, from 23/25th May - 30th/1st June.

They both work with children / teens and want a break, preferably with sun and sea, and have a budget of up to £1200 all in. They are around 30 years old and have been married for 3 years but would like an adult only hotel to relax in before they settle down to have a family of their own.

Being half term, is this realistic? They work hard and want to relax but enjoy sport.

Flights would need to be from London.

Thanks

Google hotel and "no facilities for children" to see what you get.

for 2 adults for a week I'd say thats very do-able - go to holidayhypermarket and see what comes up (leave the destination as all and choose london departures).
  • One word of warning. Just because some tour operators sell an hotel as adults only sometimes in the small print it says that there still could possibly be children at the hotel. Read the small print and if in doubt contact the hotel direct and ask the question.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

    Hi
I have looked but when you put in adult only holidays it still shows hotels with kid's and takes ages to go through them all. Anyone with experience or know websites where they only cater for adult holidays please?

Choosing a small hotel that isn't AI is a good start.

Fly with a scheduled carrier. There'll be less children, and the cabin crew won't be trying to flog you scratch cards every 5 minutes.

Places by the sea tend to attract families, so compromise a bit. Istanbul or Porto are great places, which have loads of hotels that end to attract adults only.

Porto is close to local seaside resorts, which are easily reached by train from Porto. Whereas Istanbul is one of the world's great cities.

All the major tour operators offer some form of 'adult only' package.
I'd suggest looking at those first and finding some hotels, before then looking at DIY'ing it to see if it's cheaper.

Also here are a few hotel chains who operate across Europe and who offer Adult Only hotels in certain destinations:

Melia - operating several brands inc Melia, ME by Melia and Sol all of which offer some Adult Only hotels
    Iberostar
    Riu
    Fiesta Hotels
    H10
    THB hotels
    Sentido
    Barcelo

Also found this, never heard of them before so not sure what they are like but again would be useful to use for reference to find some hotels at least. http://www.adultsonlyholidays.co.uk/

Premier Le Reve in Sal Hasheesh near Hurghada, Egypt. Offered by Thomson and is All Inclusive, adults only. A fairly isolated location more suited for a fly and flop break. Weather should be ok but not hot.

    Hi
We stayed in a Thomson Gold hotel (adults only) Hotel Coronas Playa in Lanzarote. We enjoyed it and the food was OK for an all inclusive hotel. Night time entertainment was also good. Caters for "older" people, as they have bingo!!! But like I said we enjoyed the holiday, we only did what we wanted to do and there are some amazing trips.
    I would go back again.
