SIM card for the Canary Islands

Hi, I will be travelling to the Canary Islands a couple of times this year and was wondering if anybody knows of a way to get internet allowance cheaply?
I'll be looking to take my iPad which isn't locked to any carrier as I've never used a SIM card in it.
Thanks in advance of any answers.

When are you going? Three will start including Spain in its "feel at home" countries later this year so you would get whatever package you sign up for in the UK at no extra cost in Spain.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Travelling at the end of this month and back again at the end of June0

Three starts including Spain from April 1st, so the second trip would be fine, but if you were to use Three for the first trip it would be £5/day.
A few years ago Yoigo was a good, cheap option for PAYG data in Spain, but things have almost certainly changed since then and I don't know which local providers are best these days.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Isn't the cheapest option to use wifi where you are staying? This is presumably what you do now if you have not used a sim card.0

Could you not just buy a local PAYG sim?0

There's no wifi in our villa and yes I'll probably end up purchasing a local sim but wondered if anybody had any ideas on the best value one to go for.
Thanks for your suggestions.0
