Opening Bank Account

Hi I'm a newbie here and would like some help on choosing a bank account. I want to keep my old one and open a new one I understand about putting my wage in and then putting it back into my original account and I have some earnings from an online UK business I wish to pay in to the new account, I can pass 40-50K through the account over a year. I will only pay one or two payments a month. I have looked around the site but can only see info on switching or basic accounts. Any help would be much appreciated. I must mention I have a good credit score.

This sounds like you are looking for an account which you can use for business transactions?

What do you understand? Normally this is required only for getting some benefits like, say, higher in-credit interest.

I am paye and self assessment,

I would like to avoid paying charges for a business account, take advantage of interest and open a separate account from my normal everyday account.

The monies I put in (new account) from my online business can be classed as wages and I can 'bounce my wages into and out of the interest account so it would show around 40k thruput.

I need a second bank account which have no fees completely separate from my existing account, but I don't want to switch I want to keep my old account.

All banks offer such accounts.
The only exception I know is Tesco Bank.

What does "completely separate" mean? Can it be just a second account with your bank?

Done it, TSB Classic Plus with 5% interest it took 5 mins to open. I called Santander and the 'open an account number took me to the credit card help line and the woman told me I pressed the wrong option although there was no option! she then put me through to the correct dept manned by a Scottish man I couldn't understand, then he told me he was putting me through to someone else......after 1 minute of being on hold I hung up!.
