Urgent help needed! PCN - Debt Collectors

Hi everyone,

My mum has just got a letter through from some debt collectors with a removal of goods notice for Gbp 729.00. This is because of two separate parking incidents where my mother parked with one or more wheels on a path. She only ever got one letter about one occasion and she called the council and explained that it wasn't clearly signposted saying you couldn't park there and she has only pulled over to take a phonecall. The woman from the council agreed with my mother and therefore my mother assumed that the charges had been withdrawn. (Sorry for the lack of info this event was over a year ago).

I'm not sure if this has any relevance but my mother has a mobility car as she is disabled.

As you can imagine she is very concerned about the debit collectors. She called them only to be told they would not hold the charges while she contests the charge with the council.

I told her that we should post on this website (been successfull with of s from parking eye via this website before) as you guys are very clued up and might be able to help.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hannah.

These are council fines (it seems - a PPC wouldn't likely get an removal of goods notice) ... best to take this over to Pepipoo.

Does she have a blue badge (or have one at the time)?
  • Hi Marktheshark - the charge was from the London borough of Barking and Dagenham.

Hi bod1467 - yes she has blue badge and would have had one at the time. However she didn't put the badge on display as she was in the car on a phonecall.

Thank you to both of you for taking the time to reply!

That's the forum you need. Read a few posts first to get the hang of the type of info they need to see and how to present it. If you don't make it easy for them to help you, you'll get no help. (They are a volunteer forum, like here, and are extremely busy, like here).
  • Thank you so much for your help bod1467! I will look on the forum and post a thread accordingly :)
