I've only ever cruised with P&O out of Southampton, so can't do the comparison.
Three times. Two to the Med and one to Norway. I'd recommend it. You might prefer to listen to the views of those who've used multiple cruise companies though.
A couple of days at sea allows you to find your way around the ship when you're not likely to be soaking up the sun but will find more than enough to do.
Then the various stops / trips etc kick in and you get different stuff happening every day, including sunbathing time (in the Med).0
