Tesco Direct - rant

Just need to rant! I ordered a laptop before Christmas, delivery to store was fine, however it was faulty, I confirmed with Asus that it was DOA and should be returned. Tesco agreed but said it had no stock to replace it and I should wait.
I find out today that stock has subsequently come in and been sold on to new customers - Tesco now say that they want me to send in for a repair, I had to demand a refund as they cannot guarantee stock will be made available for replacement.
Waste of my time for phone calls and chats.

You can demand or ask for a refund, but the retailer can chose repair/exchange/refund it is their choice0

If it was DOA then you haven't accepted it so a refund is perfectly reasonable.0
