When to switch gas supplier

Is now a good time to get locked into a fixed deal for Gas?
With the plummeting oil price won't this filter through to lower gas prices soon?
Won't switching to a fixed deal now mean you will lose out on the lower prices that are coming?
How likely is it that gas prices (and possibly electricity prices) will fall much below their current level as a result of the falling oil price?

Nothing will happen till after election.

Prices have been on a slightly downward curve .
But forward prices are no more than a guess .
But a lot depends upon where the gas supply is coming from also .
As EM promised as large freeze on energy prices the suppliers are not as willing as they might be to drop prices .

JJ Egan I think you are spot on with your comments about the Labour leader. I hadn't really thought about that.

What a crass promise for him to have made. It means that at least until after the election, everybody will be paying more for their energy and the suppliers will be making vast profits, because they, the suppliers, don't want to be forced into being locked in to lower prices if the prices eventually go up again.
