Hi,
I have already a 3 m depth extension, and planning to increase further 3 meters. and have the following questions, any help is appreciated:
1- as i am going to manage the project, how i can calculate the cost of foundation building ?
2- what is the type size of brick I need to use - and how I can calculate the cost ?
3- Do i need to have the brick work on 4 sides, or just 3 and use the wall of the existing extension?
thanks
Ozgur

If you are asking these questions, I think you might need someone more experienced to do the work?
Have you got planning permission as that looks to be getting beyond permitted development?0 -
It is a permitted development.0

are you sure, normally extending an extension is not within pd - also you will still need building regs to sign it off - I would say you need to take some advice on this before even considering running the job given the questions askedThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. this is all checked already, so no worries.
please leave me to get the answers, rather than wasting time.0 -
How deep do the foundations need to be to meet building regs (this will depend on nearby trees, soil type - low, medium, high shrinkage)? Is there easy access so that concrete can be pumped in easily?
I assume you will use breeze blocks for the internal walls, you should be able to price these online. Will you be matching the external brickwork with the current extension, if so check online as brick price vary considerably from what I have been told?
It might be wise to speak with your council planning officer as he/she should be able to advise and then you can price it up from there."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
Foundation will be 2.4 meters due to trees. I got a price and recommended to use C20 foundation concrete, nut still need an answer whether I can use the wall of the existing extension then need to dig only 3 sides.0

Which way do the joists run in the current extension? I presume they run across the 3m section. Of course you can use this wall but if you don't want the existing extension to be dark, you'll need openings, in which case the current joists will need to be supported probably using Catnics.
2.4m foundations are heavyweight. They must be shuttered as they are dug, to be safe. Did the groundworker not even give you any advice on where the footings sit?
It's not a very clever question to ask, which is why I'm also worried about the potential success of project managing, yourself.
Do you have an architect? Have they put together building regulations drawings for you to manage the specification? How can you get people to quote if you don't know what you're asking for?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
