nationwide application

Hi

Just wondering how long mortgage application with Nationwide takes. We got text today to say had been received application. Anyway house sale will probably go through before end of month and will need to go to short term rental due to new build not being ready till early summer. Which will involve credit searches - will this effect application. Also due to go on maternity leave.

Also been advised to redirect mail during process as on electoral role etc current address.

Will nationwide ask for further info nearer time,if they agree before releasing any funds??

Really hoping goes smoothly - we both have excellent credit history.

Impossible to know upfront, depends how straightforward is your case.
The brokers that contribute here regularly will know better, but in my experience it can take from a few days to weeks.

    The stages are typically:
    - initial processing
    - survey requested
    - survey results reviewed
    - underwriting
    * further documents requested if needed
    - mortgage offer

In my case, it took > 5 weeks due to not being in conventional permanent employment, but I think its the exception rather than the rule.

    Good luck !
  • Hello just to give you some dates i had applied for a mortgage with nationwide :

    5/09/2014 - Application Received
    7/10/2014 - Valuation report completed
    10/10/2014 - Offer

So only took about a month very fast process but i was really on top of things sending information they needed the same day as they asked for it and also ringing every few days as they needed alot of information very picky with things like i sent a copy of my passport a photocopy but after 2 weeks requested a scanned copy bit silly.

With your credit search go on experian and see if they have done a credit search already as they did mine straight away mine was excellent and having under 5 searches only puts it down to normal so don't think this will be an issue for you.

Good luck to you very stressful took me around 5 months to move in (moving in on Monday) need to be proactive and take time of work to get things sorted. don't think i would ever go though all this again.

Our cases normally take a week to ten days from application to offer, but this is totally dependent on when the valuation can be done.

If you are in an area with poor surveyor coverage, you won't get an offer in ten days if it takes two weeks to get a valuation appointment.

King street, my application to nationwide went in on Monday through broker, H2B 5 year fix. Just looked at my credit card statement and nationwide took £205 for valuation yesterday - is this a good sign?? Cheers, Tom

Thanks, we got a text yesterday about valuation but it looked to me that whoever processed it left out date bit, as looked like a standard text with gap.

Yea Kelly we will have 2 moves in six months One soon and one in summer months

"The valuation is booked for ." is a system issue where Countrywide are trying to book the appointment but have been unable to do so, so far.

O right I thought was a bit strange to send us that thanks, also considering was last thing Friday. I doubted they would have been able to get in contact with builders to get on site

I'm remortgaging to Nationwide and I also got a text and an email with blank dates for the valuation of my house after they'd called me to book the slot so don't worry about the date being missing.
