Conlons Filling station on the Springfield Road, Belfast are doing a 5 piece fry for a pound and will do 2 five pieces in the same box for £2.
Must be value?
I'd the five piece yesterday when passing. Tasty enough and cooked fresh in front of you. Came with napkins, knife, fork and brown sauce.
Its carry out only but cant complain at that price.

Sounds good but lets not forget a girl on MSE bought a fry back in the late 80's and it wasn't up to scratch so be careful.0

The ingredients have to be cheap rubbish at those prices.0

Fresh potato bread, fresh egg, fresh soda bread, fresh bacon. All cooked in front of you. The sausage is probably the questionable quality one but it was tasty enough - not "mealy" like the cheapest sausages.
Maybe hes doing a loss leader like supermarkets do to drum up trade?0 -
You can get an egg in the supermarket for 6.7p, so let's say 5p wholesale.
Let's say 10p each for the other four things = 45p, take out food so no vat on it so there's 55p for packaging, other costs and profit. I doubt it's a loss leader but probably not huge margins.0 -

I guess when he adds in his static costs of electric, rent, etc he wouldnt be making any money if he sold just those every week, but there did seem to be people in buying other stuff and his lunch menu looked good too.0 -

What should an Ulster fry contain and how does it differ from an English fry?0
